We are pleased to offer Awareness Through Movement® classes at Prana Yoga Studio with Gisele St. Hilaire. Awareness Through Movement® lessons help us become conscious of movement habits that waste precious energy. The lessons help us find ways to move that give way to increased ease and comfort. Most of the lessons are done lying on the mat and have a gentle, mindful quality, though there are challenging moments as we meet our blind spots and learn new strategies for moving within these areas. The lessons honour each individual’s pace and range of motion. Curiosity and a willingness to explore are all that are required. You can learn more about Gisele and her work at her website.

Mitzvah Technique and Itcush Method with Kana Nemoto

The Mitzvah Technique and Itcush Method is a new approach for movement and function of the body. Focusing on the alignment and mechanics of the skeletal system, one learns to release unnecessary tension in order to achieve efficient movements with minimum effort.

Intermediate class

This class is intended for returning students who have taken classes before and have experience with the basic exercises and theories. You will learn more advanced exercises and gain deeper understanding of free movement in the body. Please wear comfortable clothes (sweat pants and shirts), sweater and socks. 

Kana Nemoto trained as a classical ballet dancer in Japan, before moving to Canada in 2009. She is a Certified Mitzvah Technique and Itcush Method teacher since 2013 and has been teaching both in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Winnipeg Weekend Workshop with Louie Ettling


We are pleased to offer a weekend workshop with Louie Ettling, Director of Yoga Space in Vancouver. 

Louie Ettling has been a keen student of Iyengar Yoga since she started her studies 27 years ago. She has regularly studied with B.K.S. Iyengar and his family in India as well as during their intensives in North America. Louie serves on the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada's Professional Development Committee as a teacher trainer.
Louie shares her love of yoga by teaching seriously and with humour. She is supportive and challenging of students' own intelligent exploration of and participation in the subject.

The workshop is open to level 2 and level 3 students, and will be limited to 30 participants.  Payment in full will reserve your spot.
