Iyengar Yoga is an excellent way for expectant mothers to learn to practice asanas with greater comfort, and to make space for the breath to flow more freely.

Pregnant women who are new to Iyengar Yoga, and who are experiencing a normal and uncomplicated pregnancy, may begin with weekly Iyengar Yoga classes after the end of their first trimester (after week 12), and may continue with classes until week 34.
